Neurosomatic Psychology is a somatic psychology protocol that uses body feedback and Neurosomatic bodywork combined with client directed dialogue to change state dependent memory patterns. State dependent patterns are learned states that are activated by sensory input via our unique body and mind maps. Conscious and subconscious responses, biases and reactions to the perception of our personal reality (how we structure our interface with internal and external environmental signals and our unique assemblage of genetics (biology), sensory impressions (somatic reflexive memory) and thought structures (conscious and subconscious adaptive metaphors) are some of the base factors in our ability to manage stress, change and the cumulative effects on our biology.
The NP system of working with human trauma and chronic stress is a form of somatic psychology that emphasizes guiding the client’s attention to interoceptive, kinesthetic, and proprioceptive experience. This style of focusing the inner attention of the client, in addition to the use of kinesthetic and interoceptive imagery, touch and verbal dialogue can lead to the resolution of symptoms resulting from chronic and traumatic stress. This is accomplished through the completion of thwarted, biologically based, self-protective and defensive responses, and the discharge and regulation of excess autonomic arousal.
That being said and science and biology being what they are what we are dealing with are people and people are all about relationships and story. Relationships are based upon communication physically and psychologically. From the relationship between fields, cells, self and other, clear and balanced communication is essential to the process of health and wellbeing.

The programs are designed to model and instruct the participants in the more subtle healing art of presence, connection and communication with themselves, their family, friends, students and clients.
This understanding of self-facilitates better person to person or interpersonal communication for professionals with client. We believe that the ability to connect, maintain congruent presence, and listen without judgment is “key” to the healing relationship with self, others, and is essential between client and practitioner. Since our philosophy is you cannot lead a person down a path you have not walked yourself our programs are experiential in nature. Through communication, respectful interaction, visualization states and touch, participants build group relationship and support which facilitates conscious and cognitive unconscious trust. Trust is often missing in an individual’s life experience and is an essential key for fostering a healing state. We employ a balance of experience and information to achieve an integrated educational and transformational experience that is life changing for many participants.
This type of learning process fosters greater balance and integration of hemispheric understanding through balanced education designed for professional and lay audiences. By understanding how stress states are created and habituated in your own body and developing skills to re-pattern the interface between perception and feelings facilitates lasting change.
The programs create a balance between information and experience creating an environment of safety and trust so essential to the healing of past and present wounds and betrayals.
